ACDelco PF47 Oil Filter
Features and Benefits
Outstanding filter capacity, enhanced efficiency, consistent flow management and high-durability design help provide exceptional filtering performance. 98 percent single-pass filtering efficiency at 25-30 microns for excellent filtering capabilities. Patented cellulose media traps particles 1/3 the width of a human hair
to help provide a clean supply of oil to engine components. Thermosetting adhesive seals hold filtering media in place for consistent, dependable filtration. Designed with five times greater burst strength than most engine oil operating pressures after the oil reaches operating temperatures. Application coverage for 97 percent of all cars, light-duty trucks and sport utility vehicles, both foreign and domestic.
Function & Signs of Wear

FUNCTION: Cleanses the engine oil to help reduce wear on the engine's internal components
SIGNS OF WEAR: Dark, dirty-appearing oil
Did You Know?
Properly disposing of used oil and oil filters is critical to protecting the environment and is also becoming regulated throughout the country as landfills become overcrowded. For example, recycling just 20% of all oil and oil filters used annually in the U.S. can reap big results, including:
Saving nearly 400,000 cubic yards (over 300,000 cubic meters) of landfill space
Preventing millions of gallons (liters) of oil from being dumped into landfills
Reusing more than 34,000 tons (over 30,000 metric tons) of filter scrap to produce steel products
Consider recycling your oil and oil filters. It will make a big impact on the environment.
What It Does?
The Filtration System prevents contaminants from entering the engine and transmission while allowing enough fluid or air
flow to keep them running properly.
Service & Maintenance
Replacing your vehicle's filters on a regularly scheduled basis will help the vehicle run better and last longer. (Refer to your Owner's Manual for your vehicle's specific filter change intervals.)
If your air
filter is only slightly dirty, you can try cleaning it by gently tapping it on a flat surface or by blowing compressed air
through it, from the clean side out.
You will need to replace the air
filter more often if you drive frequently on dirt roads or live in a dusty area.
Clean filters contribute to better fuel economy and reduced vehicle operating costs. Outstanding filter capacity, enhanced efficiency.
HDR Application Comparison
I'm trying out different HDR applications to see which gives the best results.
I've been using Photomatix for a while, but lately I've been disappointed with the performance of the latest version, so I experimented with Artizen and Dynamic Photo HDR.
This image shows a comparison of 3 HDR images, all taken from a single RAW, split into 5 bracketed Jpegs, then processed in each application.
I used more or less the same settings in each programme (as near as is actually possible given different interfaces), and I found it remarkable how much difference there was in the final results.
I'm going to write off Artizen as a non-starter.
It's interface is awkward, it hogs resources, slows the computer, and I'm not impressed by the results one bit. They feel very flat to me, and lacking in detail.
I really like what Dynamic Photo HDR has achieved.
It's created a nicely even exposure all over the image, and has picked out loads more detail in the foreground than Photomatix did.
The colours are more vibrant, and the overall sharpness seems crisper to me.
It has unfortunately blown out some of the detail in the sky, but I reckon I could have fixed that by tweaking the sliders a bit more. A minor issue in the grand sceme of things.
DP-HDR also wins out over Photomatix in that it has a dead easy interface, it goes really lightly on system resources, it's faster, and it has built in noise reduction.
So with all that in mind, I think I'll be switching my HDR processing over to Dynamic Photo HDR instead of Photomatix.
I saw Chart Polski first time..
Sure I saw him in Poland :-)
